FAQ

Who is Marc Strauch? Hello and welcome. I was born and raised in Manhattan's vibrant, gritty, and often raucous East Village neightborhood. The city was my playground. I remember my first visits to the Guggenheim and Whitney museums, the Met and MOMA, each of which ignited my passion for seeing beyond the everyday. The gigantic blue whale at the Museum of Natural History stoked my love of nature and the hayden planearium fueled my love of the cosmos and science. I was very fortunate to experience all of this and more, hundreds of times as a kid.

How did you become a systems thinker? One day, around 5 years old, my grandmother took me shopping at one of the remaining public food markets in NYC and when she told the butcher she wanted "that" chicken, all i heard was a "whack", saw a chicken without its head, and ate roast chicken for dinner and chicken soup the next day. When i was about 7 years old, i asked my father where the water from the bathroom sink came from and what happened when we flushed the toilet. He actually knew the answers. My uncle was good friends with Buckminster Fuller and though i never met BUCKY, i was about 12 years old when i SAW MY FIRST GEODESIC DOME AND was introduced to his principles. I naturally saw wholeness, yet also understood that the whole has functional constituent parts. We are all made of the same elements as all of nature. Every fiber of my being is a systems thinker.

Tech, business, and art, quite a combo. yes, the creative process, whether probing what makes up the natural world and how it works, building businesses that solve human challenges, or creating art that explores the human psyche and tells our collective story by pushing the boundaries of imagination, my awe of creation, intuition, and connecting with infinite source is my foundation.
